Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate's own marketing efforts. As an affiliate marketer, you join or sign up with a company, promote their products and earn based on commission or as agreed. You can also practice affiliate marketing online by promoting other people's product through your website or blog and obtaining direct sales via a unique link which must have been obtained from the affiliated company. It can also be regarded to as Brand Influencer or Influencer, although influencers are mostly paid upfront or as contracted to drive sales based on the number of influence or following they have on their social media space.

How does the skill of an Affiliate Marketer help your organization? You reach a new target audience. You also get traffic to your website and in any case, if it doesn't result to sales, you don't get to spend money. it is cost-effective on your business as you only get to pay when you see results and you gain a new level of visibility amongst many other things your business stands to achieve.

You may not need a long time to study affiliate marketing but you will need to get trainings or have knowledge on content creation, blog writing, digital marketing, social media advertising etc. It may also take years for you to start earning and relearning the nitty gritty of affiliate marketing as it also involves building your personal brand and your own community of people that believe in your brand. However, you can gain knowledge of the above mentioned pre-requisite from online learning platforms like Udemy, Edx, LinkedIn learning, Coursera etc.

Earnings varies as it depends on each individuals effort and the product that you are affiliated with but you can earn as much as $1,000.00 to $100,000.00 depending on the level of your personal branding.
