Cloud computing means storing and accessing data and programs over the internet instead of your computer's hard drive. When you store data on or run programs from the hard drive, that's called local storage and computing.

With cloud computing, users can access files and use applications from any device that can access the Internet. If there is a document you have stored and it doesn’t require that you access from one particular computer hard drive, then it has been stored in the "cloud" for easier access from anywhere. so we can conclude that cloud computing is an application-based software infrastructure that stores data on remote servers, which can be accessed through the internet.

How does Cloud Computing help your organization?: First of all, you should know that cloud computing or using cloud for your business is much more than just a back-up system. As a cloud computing professional, operator, programmer or developer, You bring flexibility as everyone whether in the office or out of office can access relevant documents when required. You save them IT infrastructure cost, you can save them from loosing important documents in case of a disaster. You enable great Collaboration Efficiency among the staff especially in this time of Work at home and the organization has a better control of documents.

How do you get this skills? There are three types of solutions in cloud computing: Software Application, Infrastructure and platform as a service. Although you do not need a prerequisite per say to learn this skill but you should at least have an IT background or have knowledge on Operating System, Virtualization, Networking, coding but this doesn't stop a Marketer or sales person to learn it as it is nothing foreign to learn and you are already familiar and using clouds storage on your phones.

It would take a duration of 2.5 years to 4 years to become certified in cloud computing. Yes, it is such a big deal and youngsters need to jump on it. Three recognized institute that you can obtain certificate on this skills are: AWS (Amazon web service) Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Solution Associate, Google certified professional cloud Architect to mention but a few. The fees to obtain this certificate varies and a little research can give you an idea but you can also check out not so free learning from Udemy, coursera, LinkedIn Learning, IBM to know if its what interest you before you decide how to proceed.
